A clear explanation of the restaurant, menu and usage information MenuQR handles.
Last updated: 25 August 2026
What this policy covers
This policy explains how MenuQR, provided by The Atom, handles information when restaurants request or use MenuQR and when guests browse a MenuQR menu. It does not cover the independent privacy practices of a restaurant, payment provider or third-party website.
Information we handle
- Restaurant account information, such as contact details, authorised staff details and account requests.
- Restaurant-supplied menu content, including dishes, prices, availability, images, logo, banner, opening hours and contact information.
- Support messages and information supplied when asking us for help.
- Technical and aggregate usage information needed to operate, secure and improve the service, such as menu scans, menu views, dish views, searches and browser or device signals.
How we use information
- Provide, secure, maintain and improve MenuQR.
- Publish the restaurant content that the restaurant chooses to make public.
- Provide account access, support, analytics and operational records to authorised restaurant users.
- Prevent abuse, investigate security issues and comply with legal obligations.
Guest menus and analytics
Guests can browse a MenuQR menu without creating a MenuQR account. MenuQR uses privacy-conscious aggregate analytics to help restaurants understand menu activity. A restaurant is responsible for its own notices and practices when it collects information directly from guests, for example through its own contact links, ordering tools or external websites.
Sharing and retention
We share information only with service providers that help us host, secure or operate MenuQR, with the restaurant’s authorised users, where you direct us to share it, or where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
We retain information for as long as needed to operate the account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Public restaurant content can remain visible until the restaurant changes, removes or unpublishes it.
Security and your choices
We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls and tenant separation, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Restaurant users should use strong, unique passwords and limit staff access to people who need it.
You may ask about your account information, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern through the MenuQR request form. We may need to verify the request and may retain information where the law allows or requires it.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The current version and its update date are always published on this page.
